Catamaran calendar published by the operator for 2 to 19 November 2026; days without a Symi call are marked

Panagia Skiadeni ferry Dodekanisos Seaways also runs the conventional passenger and vehicle ferry Panagia Skiadeni. It leaves from Akantia port in Rhodes, not Kolona, and docks at Petalo on Symi (at Gialos in bad weather). On most dates it sails to Panormitis rather than Symi town. Its times and fares are separate and are not on this board.

Panormitis Panormitis is a separate port on Symi. Some catamaran and ferry sailings call there instead of at Gialos, so check the port name on the ticket.

Weather and changes The port authorities can ban departures in bad weather. In that case the terms allow the ticket to be changed or refunded, and the company posts itinerary changes on its website.

Adult, Rhodes–Symi by catamaran (to the port of destination)€32
Child under 5Free

Price from the 2026 Dodekanisos Express and Dodekanisos Pride fare list (v2026.6), which lists each pair of ports once and notes that prices may be adjusted with season and passenger traffic. The travel terms say the fare covers transport to the port of destination in an airline-type seat, with the legal charges included. Children under 5 travel free and children aged 5 to 10 pay half fare; people with a disability rate of 80% or more get 50% off with supporting documents. Discounts are not combined. The conventional ferry Panagia Skiadeni has its own, separate fares. Vehicle fares are not covered here. All fares in euros (EUR).

Dodekanisos Seaways links Rhodes with Symi using its two high-speed catamarans, Dodekanisos Express and Dodekanisos Pride. In Rhodes they leave from Kolona port, which the company places about 600 m from the Mandraki bus terminal in town. On Symi they berth at Gialos, beside the clock tower. Symi is the first call on longer runs that carry on to Kos, Kalymnos, Leros and Patmos, or to Chalki, Tilos and Nisyros, and the boat calls again on its way back to Rhodes.

There is no fixed winter table. The company publishes its sailings date by date, and for 2 to 19 November 2026 its calendar shows the catamaran leaving Rhodes at 08:00 and reaching Symi 45 minutes later, with the return leaving Symi the same afternoon. Several dates have no call at Symi Gialos at all, and on some of them the boat serves Panormitis, a separate port on the island. The board on this page follows those dates one by one and stops at the last date the operator shows.

The 2026 fare list gives €32 for an adult passenger between Rhodes and Symi on the catamarans. According to the travel terms, that price covers the trip to the port of destination in an airline-type seat and includes the legal charges, while the list warns that prices may move with season and demand. Children under five travel free and those aged five to ten pay half. People with a disability rate of 80% or more also get 50% off with documents, and discounts are never combined.

Tickets are sold online, by phone on 22410 70590, at the company kiosks at Kolona and Akantia ports, at its office at 50 Afstralias Street and through travel agencies. Kiosk opening hours are not published, so buying online or by phone ahead of the day is the safer option for the 08:00 boat. E-tickets are shown as a QR code. The company asks passengers to be at the ship 60 minutes before departure with a passport or identity card. Luggage of up to 40 kg is stowed in the vehicle area, out of reach during the crossing, and pets need their own ticket and travel in outdoor pet areas, leashed and muzzled.

The same company's conventional ferry Panagia Skiadeni leaves from Akantia port and has its own fares. Blue Star Ferries also lists Symi on its routes from Piraeus, up to three times a week, with times shown only in its booking system.

  • Be at the port in good time; some operators ask passengers to arrive 30 to 60 minutes before departure and close online sales earlier.
  • Check the operator's notices on the day — strong winds, including the summer meltemi, can delay or cancel sailings.
  • Check what the ticket price includes; some totals add port charges and VAT.
